Twenty-five years after its authors Josep Maria Massana and Josep Maria Tremoleda launched the Havana bench, Santa & Cole is now jubilantly re-editing it at its best age. The most widely recognised, used and discreet large convenience bench in wood, for all types of public hall and corridor, in its day it was a real benchmark of dignifying the public services offered to the people of Spain. It has been used in schools, health centres and police stations, as well as many private waiting rooms.
Its emblematic profile is the outcome of a meticulous ergonomic study and a poetic stylization of Swede Gunnar Asplund’s work in wood, while also paying tribute to the Catalan creations of a Lluís Domènech i Montaner and Antoni Gaudí, and with international sensuality.
