The project started 20 years ago as a radical concept where a railway cutting through the heart of the town would be covered over to form the site for the new superstore. This ambitious project took many years to obtain planning permission, finally opening in 2010.

Such a bold project called for some statement lighting, and the Vía Láctea was selected to line the walkway to the superstore. This versatile streetlamp with simple, geometric lines was the perfect introduction to the development.
