Burgess Park- Christie Installation with Southwark Council
Burgess Park- Christie Installation with Southwark Council
Our Projects
Christie BBQ Cooktops
We are proud to have assisted Southwark Council in installing new accessible barbecues at Burgess Park, which aim to encourage visitors to be more sustainable in an effort to control litter and combat climate change. The council has also banned gas, wood and charcoal BBQs in all other parks across the borough.
A Space For Community Engagement
Located in the heart of London, Burgess Park is Southwark's largest public park renowned for its picturesque natural environment, and the Christie cooktop complements this setting perfectly. By offering visitors and local residents a space to cook and dine together outdoors, the installation encourages spontaneous gatherings, collaborative meal-making, and the sharing of different cultural experiences.
The sleek and durable design of the cooktops fits seamlessly into the park's landscape, providing a modern and practical solution to high outdoor cooking demand that also promotes sustainability and inclusivity. Their electric operation ensures safe, clean cooking, aligning with the council's environmental values and commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
